I started a blog.

I’m not quite sure what you’re supposed to write in your first post on your brand new blog. Actually, I’m not quite sure what I’m going to blog about at all. I do know that I’m a writer – no, not a professional writer, or even an English major – but the type of person who writes as a way of escaping everything. Like some people do yoga (I wish I was one of them), some people run (I wish I was one of them too…), and some people play music (I do occasionally play the piano, but it’s hard in college). One day in ninth grade French, our teacher tried to divide us into “math-y science-y” people and “English-y writer” people, based on some random chart that we drew, and I fell into the latter category. Maybe that doesn’t surprise you considering everything I just said, but I was also referred to as “the math girl” in high school, and now I’m studying business and engineering in college. So, yes, I’m one of those young people in college who is intellectually (and otherwise) confused.

I know that sometimes when people blog, I judge everything they write. I’m all “Who ACTUALLY cares?” and “Why is she still in middle school?!” and I guess now I’m subjecting to myself to that same sort of thing. Not that I expect anyone and everyone to read this or anything, but still. Maybe if I achieve nothing after four years in college, I will look back at this blog and think of it as some sort of achievement.

So, what am I going to write about? I think that it’s going to be a sort of mixed bag; a mix of my thoughts about things (serious and not-so-serious, considering I do sometimes get emotionally vested in celebrity gossip), some fashion stuff (inspiration and maybe some random stuff that I draw), and stuff I find on the internet that I find interesting, inspiring, or funny. Maybe I’ll stop writing in like two weeks but I’m going to try!

If you read this whole post, thank you…maybe my blog will be as popular as Mindy Kaling’s one day. (just kidding) (ish) (I love Mindy Kaling).
